Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.project-medal.org, operated by a research group at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).

Conformance status

This website has been designed in accordance with theBarrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV 2.0) and aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. The website is partially compliant with these requirements due to the exceptions listed below.

The current self-assessment found no violations in automated accessibility test and Axe checks across the public pages and configured desktop and mobile browser profiles. Source-code review, keyboard spot checks, and checks at a width of 320 CSS pixels have also been completed. The manual checks listed below are still in progress.

Known limitations

  • The required explanations of the website's essential content, navigation, and accessibility statement are not yet available in German Sign Language. Until they are available, the same subjects are covered in this statement and on the Easy Language page in both English and German.
  • Screen-reader testing, forced-colors testing, text-spacing overrides, zoom at 200 and 400 percent, and testing on representative physical devices have not yet been completed. If these checks identify barriers, they will be recorded here with accessible alternatives and remediation dates.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was last reviewed on September 2026, based on a self-assessment following the BITV guidelines. An independent BITV audit has not been performed.
